You will need yarn, I bought these three at Walmart (for $1.77) and you are getting more than one color by going with these multi colored ones. Along with a couple of branches.
I didn't start at the very bottom since they will be sitting in a vase, etc. I tied a knot and just started wrapping the first color. Stop where ever you choose and start with the second color, then do the same with your last color. Then Wah-Lah you are done, you can choose to use glue to hold each end securely but I tied a knot instead.
